Jonathan Vazquez-Perez
I am a PhD student in the Cancer and Cell Biology program at Baylor College of Medicine.
I study dendritic cell gene expression and immune signaling circuits. Specifically, a C/EBP-β/GATA3 transcriptional rheostat that dynamically regulates CTLA-4 in response to maturation and polarization cues. My thesis research builds toward a framework where dendritic cell checkpoint expression is part of a broader network relaying causal information from innate signaling into adaptive T-cell responses, contrasting with static, subset-defined polarization schemes.
Looking forward, I am most interested in systems immunology, applying operator-relative information theory to biological networks, and working at the interface of AI and immunology. I am also a musician and artist.
