Fernando B Sulczewski
Dr. Fernando B. Sulczewski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo (ICB/USP), Brazil. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Centro Universitário Franciscano and master’s and doctoral degrees in Sciences from the Graduate Program in Biology of Host–Pathogen Interactions at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo. He completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University and the University of California, San Diego, United States. His research focuses on dendritic cell (DC) biology, particularly the diversity and function of these cells in infectious diseases of public health significance. He investigates dendritic cell development from bone marrow precursors and the molecular mechanisms that regulate their function during infections, seeking to understand how alterations in these processes influence the quality of the immune response. With a translational perspective, these studies contribute to the scientific foundations of immunomodulatory strategies.
