Konrad Knöpper
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Jason Cyster’s laboratory at UCSF, where I study how tissue-derived and systemic signals regulate dendritic cell behavior and adaptive immunity. My current work investigates how sensory neurons and endocrine signals interact to control dendritic cell migration and tissue immunity. During my PhD with Wolfgang Kastenmüller in Würzburg, Germany, I studied how the local organization of lymph nodes establishes site-specific immune responses. My overall scientific interest is to understand how tissue-specific niches establish, maintain, and adapt local dendritic cell networks, with a particular interest in the mechanisms controlling DC abundance, heterogeneity, and spatial organization across tissues.
